Cashmere Care Guide

Cashmere is a luxurious natural fibre known for its softness, warmth, and light weight. SAINT LX utilises only Grade A cashmere, the finest and softest grade available. By following the cashmere care guide, you can maintain the softness, shape, and longevity of your garments, ensuring they remain a staple in your wardrobe for years to come.

HOW TO WASH

We recommend washing your garments only when needed after several wears, or if a stain must be removed. A gentle wool wash approved for delicate fibres must be used. Hand washing is the gentlest method for cleaning cashmere which we recommend.

  • Fill a tub with lukewarm water and mix with delicate wool detergent
  • Turn your garment inside out and submerge the cashmere in the water gently washing
  • Rinse the garment with cold water, squeezing as much water out of the garment as possible, being careful to not twist or wring the garment as cashmere fibres are even more delicate when wet
  • Wrap the garment in a towel to remove any excess water
  • Pull garment back to shape and lay it flat on a new towel to let it dry in a cool place out of the sun

STORING

Knitwear should be folded and stored flat, never hung as this will cause stretching and the garment will grow out of shape. When packing your knitwear away for the summer season, ensure they are freshly washed and dried completely – do not pack away if they are slightly damp. Pack your knitwear in an airtight sealed container away from direct sunlight. For extra protection from moths, we recommend using a moth repellent and storing it in a sealed container.

CARING FOR YOUR CASHMERE

Pilling

Pilling will naturally occur during the course of wear for all natural wools and hairs. This is to be expected and can be easily removed. After washing and drying, we recommend de-pilling with a cashmere comb and then using an electronic fabric shaver to remove excess pilling. Lay on a flat surface and in circular motions, use a light hand to remove the pilling gently, avoiding snagging or damaging the fibres.

Jewellery and Sharp Objects

Be cautious of jewellery, belts, and other accessories that may snag or pull at the delicate cashmere fibres.
